Do you feel as if your Medicare Supplement plan’s premium is increasing year after year? Are you afraid that if you leave your current Medicare Supplement plan, you will be unable to get it back?
At CORE Insurance Advisors, we recognize that many have heard about Medicare Advantage plans, but believe that if they leave their current Medicare Supplement plan, they may not get it back.
If this is you, or someone you know, we have a solution for you!
If you’d like to test drive a Medicare Advantage plan before making a long-term commitment, a Medicare Advantage trial period could be the answer. A trial Medicare Advantage period can be easily and directly compared to a trial subscription for a magazine or newspaper.
“Am I Eligible to Try Medicare Advantage?”
If you are a current Medicare Supplemental holder, and have never been on a Medicare Advantage plan before, you are eligible to try a Medicare Advantage plan for up to 12 months, risk free.
If you decide to try a Medicare Advantage plan, but find that within the first 12 months it’s not the best plan for you, you are free to return to a Medicare Supplement plan with a guaranteed issue.
So, we want to emphasize that there is absolutely no risk in giving a Medicare Advantage Plan a trial run.
“What Happens if I Decide to Switch Back to my Medicare Supplement Plan?”
Guaranteed issue rights are rights you have in certain situations when your insurance company cannot refuse to sell you a Medicare Supplement policy. The Medicare Advantage trial period is one of those situations.
Under the Medicare Advantage trial period, within the first 12 months you can return to a Medicare Supplement plan and your insurance company:
- Must offer you a Medicare Supplement plan
- Must cover all of your pre-existing health conditions
- Can not charge more for a Medicare Supplement plan because of past or present health issues
- May increase premium if you’ve had a birthday while trying a Medicare Advantage plan
“Is a Trial Medicare Advantage Plan Right for Me?”
You may now be considering whether or not a trial Medicare Advantage plan is right for you. If you feel as if your Medicare Supplement premium is increasing at an unprecedented rate, if you’re concerned about losing your Medicare Supplement plan and not getting it back, or if you enjoy trying and learning new things, we have the perfect opportunity for you.
